This weekend’s opening of an expansive American restaurant at John Street’s Seaport space was owned and managed by locals, with chef Stephen Woods from Smith & Wollensky creating the hearty menu. Now, these owners hope to introduce outdoor dining this summer; However, a heated exchange with two building residents at Community Board 1’s Financial District Committee meeting has raised some concern among them.

With food, beverages, riding gear, and much more all under one roof – plus anything that might have been forgotten along your journey, we have you covered!

Don’t forget to order bar food when visiting South Street Seaport’s Trading Post restaurant, recently acquired by four Seaport locals, including Smith & Wollensky alumni Stephen Woods. While sipping $5 beers at this vast three-floor space newly developed by four Seaport locals -including Woods from Smith & Wollensky-share some cracker-thin pizza with sausage while watching your game on TV or the cracker-thin pizzas made vegan! For something a little heartier, check out their seafood (raw bar!) or burger menu options (grilled halloumi with a poached egg on buttered sourdough sounds delicious-and yes, it is vegan!).
